Home Sweet Home

Gosh, I think it's been almost a month since I've blogged. I need to step it up!

I am currently enjoying my last few days in the frigid ice box of Minnesota. I am ready to head back to the Rockies and see some sun again. I've loved being home with my friends and family, however, I am so excited to be back in my home again for awhile. It's been so great being able to spend my free time with friends (and actually have a babysitter). I am definitely going to miss having such frequent girl's night outs! I will also miss having the gym only 5 minutes away. However, the sun never shines in this state during the winter months and it's too cold to go outside. I have major cabin fever. I've been spending far too much time in front of the TV (having developed an unhealthy infatuation with the TV shows "Friday Night Lights" and "Project Runway"). Next week will involve a 16 hour drive back to Castle Rock followed up by a day of skiing in Vail and spending the weekend at the very posh Beaver Creek Resort & Lodge with the rest of the wealthy europeans. Lucky me.

My 2 months in MN hasn't been completely unproductive. I've been working out a lot, heading to the gym about 4- 5 times a week. Last Monday I jogged for 30 minutes straight! A personal best. While I'm not yet ready for any marathons, I am in much better shape than I was on December 31st. The pounds aren't going away yet, but my hope is that I have increased lean muscle mass and therefore have replaced fat with muscle. Fingers crossed.

I cannot wait to get back to my own bed, couch, kitchen, TV, bathroom, etc, etc. I am homesick for Stockwell Street. I get to meet Jessie's new baby girl to, which makes me very happy. After a short 3 week stay, I'm off to California to reunite with my hubby and spend springtime at the beach. Gosh, I'm one lucky girl!!
